Nina Dobrev's fashion obsession is with a good old pair of jeans.

The actress recently dished about her crazy collection of denim and shared what her first big splurge was.

At the People StyleWatch x Revolve on Aug. 12, the actress was asked about what fashion item she can't stop buying. Dobrev laughed at the question and replied with, "Jeans. My friends, actually -- I've had a jeantervention. They've had to sit me down and tell me not to buy any more jeans and jean shorts."

How many does she have? Well, according to People StyleWatch, the actress doesn't exactly know. "I have no idea," she explained. "I couldn't tell you." When asked if she had over 100, she said yes.

The "Vampire Diaries" star explained that her obsession with jeans is one that she's had for a while and she is very sentimental about, even if they do tend to sit in her closet for the most part.

"I don't wear them by the way," continued the actress. "I don't wear half of them. I'm very nostalgic about certain things, so if I have a pair of jeans I wore when I did my audition for 'Vampire Diaries,' I'll keep them until my children in 45,000 years are born and they want to wear them ... so that's what I mean. I don't wear them anymore because they don't fit me because I'm not as tiny as season one of 'Vampire Diaries,' I mean but I still have them. All of them."

Even though the actress has quite a collection of jeans that doesn't mean she's quick to spend her hard earned cash. Dobrev revealed that she waited until the third season of the CW vampire show to make her first big designer splurge.

"When I went to Paris for the first time, I bought myself the smallest Chanel purse they made because even that one was so expensive," she said. "I came from an eastern European background, from Bulgaria, [and] my parents moved to Canada with absolutely nothing but the clothes on their back. I worked and learned what the value of a dollar is. So even though I make a good living, I still have that in my blood and so it's hard for me to splurge and spend money frivolously like that."

Th 26-year-old recently attended the 2015 Teen Choice Awards, where she won Choice TV Actress: Sci-Fi/Fantasy, and thanked her fans for the support during her time on "The Vampire Diaries" and explained her decision to leave the show, reported Entertainment Weekly.

"Change. It's a scary word, or I used to think that, because it meant new beginnings," said the actress on stage. "New beginnings with a future that was unknown. But change is necessary. Necessary for you to grow up and learn and to better yourself, because everything in life comes to an end."
