Are you excited about the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus (or maybe iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, depending on Apple's naming whims)? Now it looks like the three most important release dates for September 2015 iPhone 6S mania are nearly guaranteed as confirmed, thanks to leaks and Apple's history.

Every year, the unveiling and sale of the new iPhone revolve around three important days, which all tend to happen in quick succession in the middle of September: First, the Apple Event where the new iPhone is unveiled, then, the date when first adopters can preorder it online, and finally, the actual release date, when the new iPhones are on the shelves of Apple Stores, wireless carrier stores, and other retailers like Best Buy.

Apple Event: iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus Reveal Date

Those important dates start this year with the September 2015 Apple Event where CEO Tim Cook is expected to unveil and hype the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

Official invitations haven't been sent yet, so there's no official confirmation of the Apple Event's date for this year. But the Apple iPhone 6S Event will almost certainly take place on Wednesday, Sept. 9, according to a recent BuzzFeed report citing unnamed Apple sources. If not, the event is still reportedly likely to take place on some weekday on the week starting Sept. 7.

iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus Preorder Date

This date prediction is based on a mix of the probable Apple Event date this year and Apple's long-running habit of making preorders online available on the Friday of the same week.

Assuming the September 2015 Apple iPhone 6S Event takes place any day on the week of Sept. 7, preorders will likely open online on the morning of that Friday, Sept. 11.

iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus Release Date, In Stores

Following this logic, and supported by leaks from German carriers, U.K.'s Vodafone (via Forbes), and Best Buy, which as 9to5Mac recently discovered, is going to begin offering AppleCare plans for the first time ever starting the week of September 14.

The European carrier leaks pointed to a Sept. 18 release date, which is the Friday after Best Buy begins rolling out AppleCare, a full week after preorders are expected to begin, and nine days after the expected Apple Event announcement. The timing of all of these dates comports with the basic schedule followed in every Apple iPhone release in recent years.

So that means you're likely just about three weeks away from learning if the iPhone 6S (or 7) has Force Touch, more RAM, and many other new features and improvements that may make the device a best-seller for Apple. And you probably know when you can start lining up in front of the Apple Store to get one.
