A recent report has further strengthened rumors claiming a November release date for the latest iPad model.

DigiTimes stated that the 12.9-Inch iPad Pro will be entering mass production in September, which will continue all-throughout October. Based on the timeframe, the tablet could be released just in time for the Holiday season this year.

Apple is preparing to ship approximately five million iPad Pro units for 2015 alone. This ran counter to the website's report from a month ago, which stated that Apple is cautious of the volume of tablets it will be producing this year due to the dwindling demands for tablets.

Meanwhile, Sharp will be the units' main supplier of the LCD displays. General Interface Solution, on the other hand, will be responsible for providing touch modules, lamination work, and LCM assembly. Samsung Display and TPK will act as the secondary suppliers of the device.

"The makers were chosen due to Foxconn's close relationship with Apple and cooperation with Sharp," sources told the Taiwanese website.

The news should be taken with a grain of salt, though, as the website has a reputation of being inaccurate at times. However, their claims do mirror previous reports, which means they could be on to something after all.

Apple Insider was able to get a copy of a research note from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, where he stated that mass production of the iPad Pro is to commence in September. Its distribution and eventual release could come as early as late October or early November, with the latter being the most plausible.

App See also recently discovered an iPad Model codenamed "iPad6,8". They unearthed the identifier within their analytics logs. The device has a resolution of 2732×2048, suggesting that it was in fact the 12.9-inch iPad Pro behind the alias.

What's even more interesting is that it was found to be running on iOS 9.1. This means the new iPad will be released later than the new iPhones, which will run on iOS 9.

When it does arrive, the iPad Pro will be the first major addition in the iPad series. At 12.9 inches, the Pro will be 3 inches wider than the iPad Air 2.

Aside from its pressure-sensitive Force Touch display and optional stylus, the new iPad will also be fitted with a USB-C port that could support peripheral devices.

The iPad Pro is rumored to be unveiled together with the iPhone 6S, the 6S Plus, the iPad mini 4 and the new Apple TV at a press event on Sept. 9.
