It was previously reported, thanks to leaked shipment listings, that Samsung was testing an 18.4-inch tablet. The French website that sourced the image went on to state that the prototypes will soon be destroyed by the South Korean tech giant after they have served their preliminary purpose.

GSM Arena speculated that Samsung is quick to dispel any evidence of the tests to avoid further leakages.

If a new rumor is to be believed, Samsung has failed mightily on their efforts to downplay their work. A recent report has elaborated on the notion that Samsung is currently developing a huge 18.4-inch tablet.

According to Sam Mobile, the device, which has the model number SM-T670 and sports the alias "Tahoe," will soon follow in the footsteps of the Galaxy Tab E, Tab A, and Tab S2.

Tahoe will come with a 18.4-inch TFT LCD 1920 x 1080p display and an octa-core 64-bit 1.6GHz Exynos 7580 processor, and a 5,700 mAh battery. It will have 32 GB of built-in storage on 2 GB of RAM and will support microSD expansion of up to 128 GB. The device is to be fitted with an 8-megapixel main camera and a 2.1-megapixel selfie snapper.

The news came off the heels of recent murmurs claiming that Samsung is also working on a 12-inch Windows 10 tablet.

The device will supposedly include the following specs:

  •  Super AMOLED 2560 x 1600 or 3840 x 2400p touchscreen display
  •  14nm Intel Core M processor
  •  4GB of RAM
  •  6.2mm thickness
  •  600g weight
  •  S-Pen capabilities

Samsung has kept mum on the 12-inch Windows 10 tablet, meaning this report should be treated as nothing more than harmless gossip. But before dismissing this rumor entirely, Samsung did produce some Windows gadgets in the past. The most promising of which was the Samsung Ativ S I8750 that ran on Windows 8. The device was launched just four months after Microsoft released the Windows 8 on PC in August 2012.

The device featured a 4.8-inch 280 x 720p Super AMOLED touchscreen display, Dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor, up to 32 GB internal storage, 1 GB of RAM, and micro-SD expandable up to 32 GB.

This example may not strengthen the current rumors regarding an upcoming Samsung tablet with a built-in Windows 10 OS, but it does remind people that Samsung has in fact teamed up with Microsoft before.

At any rate, these two new reports could only mean that we should expect larger tablets from the South Korean company.
