This week two Oscar nominated films will be released on DVD with a number of acclaimed Indie films. Additionally, one summer film will also be released to compete with surplus of new releases.

Weekly Highlights

"Two Days, One Night": The Dardennes' new film will finally be released after breaking out at the box office. Starring Oscar winner Marion Cotillard, the film tells the story of Sandra, who discovers that her workmates have opted for a significant pay bonus, in exchange for her dismissal. In turn, she has a weekend to persuade them to give up their bonuses so she can keep her job. The film made its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival where it score rave reviews and later became a huge festival hit.

The movie later went on to get nominated for the BAFTA and Broadcast Film Critics' awards. It also surprised at the Academy Awards as it was nominated for the Oscar for Best Actress. The film was regarded as one of the best films of last year and will likely attract foreign film lovers and Cotillard fans. IFC films is releasing the movie through Criterion Collection.

"Citizenfour": Radius TWC will finally release the Oscar-winning documentary about a documentarian and a reporter who travel to Hong Kong to interview Edward Snowden. Having premiered at the New York Film Festival to rave reviews the movie became an instant hit and went on to become a box office it. Directed by Laura Poitras, the film won universally every major award for Best Documentary including the BAFTA and the Academy Award. After the success of the movie, Oliver Stone is currently finishing up a feature film entitled "Snowden" and Poitras is slated to be portrayed by Melissa Leo. "Citizenfour" will likely attract documentary lovers as well as those interested in politics.

Other Releases

Jennifer Lopez and Viola Davis' Sundance film "Lila & Eve" will also be released. The movie received a small theatrical release and was mostly seen on VOD. While Lopez and Davis received good reviews out of Sundance, the film itself was received with lukewarm responses and it never caught on.

Cameron Crowe's over-delayed "Aloha" will also hit shelves after a disastrous theatrical run. The movie, starring Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone and Rachel McAdams, was once thought an awards contender but when it was delayed to the summer, buzz died down. When the film was released, the marketing campaign was limited and it was heavily criticized as being whitewashed and for being racist.

The faith-based film "Where Hope Grows" will also be released and stars Kristoffer Polaha, David DeSanctis and Danica McKellar.

Samuel L. Jackson's "Big Game," Nicolas Cage's "The Runner" and Patricia Clarkson's "October Gale" will also be among the new releases.

Among the TV shows in release will be "Criminal Minds," "Elementary" Season 3, "The Good Wife" Season 6, "The Mindy Project" Season 3, "King of the Hill" Season 11, "The Walking Dead" Season 5 and "Revenge" Season 4.
