OnePlus One owners could finally have a taste of the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with the Cyanogen OS 12.1, OnePlus' latest software update for users of their first smartphone.

The new OS has every Google-related feature while maintaining core Cyanogen-exclusive features.

According to GSM Arena, Cyanogen OS 12.1 will have an improved "TrueCaller" app, which allows users to recognize unknown callers as well as block unwanted contacts. You can view a screenshot of the app on the OnePlus One here.

Cyanogen OS 12.1 also carries a new default launcher. Featured apps on the homescreen will now be shown on a vertical list akin to the Android Marshmallow OS design. If you don't like it, though, don't fret. It can be re-set to a paged drawer from the new launcher's settings menu.

Lastly, one noticeable change OnePlus users would discover with the new OS is that the default Chrome homepage has been changed to Microsoft's Bing. This can be re-set by maneuvering through Chrome's settings.

Surely, Cyanogen OS 12.1 will afford devoted fans of the OnePlus One a chance to enjoy features previously exclusive to the OnePlus 2. To recall, the upstart Chinese mobile manufacturer's second generation smartphone launched just this month with a built-in Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.

As good as this new OS might sound to OnePlus One owners, an updated report on the new operating system claimed that OnePlus has temporarily halted the seeding of the Cyanogen OS 12.1.

"After rolling out the update to just 2% of users, OnePlus has since pulled the OTA [over-the-air transfer] entirely due to issues it hasn't yet explained," Android Police reported.

The same site has since offered links for OnePlus One owners who would want to install the OS manually.

Meanwhile, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, in a previous interview with USA Today, said that the company's third offering will be launched in December, just in time for Christmas.

The yet to be officially named "OnePlus 3" will mark the company's second smartphone this year. The OnePlus 2 is in stores since August 11.

Pei also took the time to clarify on OnePlus' reputation of being a mid-level smartphone producer.

"Advertising is diminishing in value and the value of good products is rising because it can be discovered without a huge marketing budget... I'm sure that if Samsung cut all their stores and cut all the distribution and went direct to consumer they would be able to sell their phone at a lower price than we do. So it's not about making a cheap phone at all," the novice entrepreneur said.
