Android users looking to jump on the iOS bandwagon can do so with the "Move to iOS" app on the upcoming iOS 9. However, rumors say the new iOS won't be unveiled until Sept. 9 when Apple will be holding a press event for the two new iPhones.

Android users, who can't wait that long, can switch to iOS manually. Google Sync makes this possible, Mac Rumors reported.

Android users, who already have an iOS device, are advised to back up their files before doing any of the following steps.

Importing Prior Contacts, Mail and Calendars

  • Open the Settings on your iOS device app and select Mail, Contacts, Calendar from the options.
  • Press "Add Account" and choose Google.
  • Enter your email address, password and other required information.
  • When prompted, turn on Contacts and Calendars.

Importing Prior Photos and Videos

  • Download iTunes on your PC or Mac.
  • Connect your Android device to the PC or Mac then store desired photos and videos to a separate file.
  • Connect the iOS device to the PC and enable iTunes.
  • Select "Photos" from the Settings menu on your device.
  • Check the "Sync Photos" box. Then, select the dropdown menu under "Copy photos from" and select the file folder, where your desired Android photos are previously stored. To also include the desired videos, select "Include Videos".
  • Sync by clicking "Apply".

The aforementioned process can also be used to transfer music files through iTunes.

  • Access iTunes and select the Music section.
  • Open the folder where desired music files from Android device are stored. Drag them to the Music view in iTunes.
  • Connect your iOS device to your PC or Mac and select it in iTunes. After that, click on the Music tab.
  • Check the "Sync Music" box. You will then be asked whether to sync the entire library or sync specific songs.

Importing Document Files Through iCloud.com

  • Install Pages, Keynote and Numbers on your iPhone.
  • Navigate through the Settings app on your iOS device.
  • Select iCloud and press Account then log in with your Apple ID.
  • Return to the main Settings page and select the app you wish to upload files to (Pages, Numbers or Keynote). Then turn on the "Use iCloud" switch.
  • Connect your Android device to your PC then search for desired Microsoft documents and store them in a separate folder.
  • Access the internet and sign in to iCloud.com with your Apple ID.
  • Select the app you wish to upload the files to, and then drag the Microsoft files from your computer to the Apple app.
  • The document files will then sync on iCloud and will be available on your iOS device shortly thereafter.
