Hip-hop couple Christina Milian and Lil Wayne have decided to end their year-long relationship due to busy schedules, E! News reported on Monday.

"Their schedules started getting extremely busy and the distance was not easy for them both," a source close to the couple told E! News. "They are not on bad terms. They just are taking a break. Christina is focusing on herself now and surrounding herself with close girl friends like Karrueche Tran. They both understand each other and girlfriends are exactly what she wants [right] about now."

The E! News report makes no mention of what author and former video vixen, Karrine Steffans, revealed during a June 3 interview on Hot 97's "Ebro in the Morning" show: that Wayne cheated on Milian with Steffans after last year's American Music Awards.

In the video clip, when asked the last time she had sexual relations with the New Orleans rapper, Steffans says it was shortly after Wayne and Milian's "horrible" AMA's performance.

"I haven't hit that since him and Christina did that really horrible... they had that 'Start a Fire' thing and it was so bad and I think he kind of felt kind of low about that," she said. "As an artist and someone who has to create something out of nothing. I think it's important that we pair ourselves with the right people. When I was with Wayne I wrote my best stuff, I felt like when he was with me he wrote his best stuff. When he was trying to figure out his new style, that singing thing he started doing, he was with me on the bus singing into a remote control, 'how does this sound?'"

A Hot 97 host asked if she misses Wayne.

"I miss who we were at that time, and my love for him -- I love him sincerely, dearly," Steffans said.

Steffans' claim likely came as a shock to the "Say I" singer, who has seemed very much in love with Wayne since they began dating in July 2015. In May, she flaunted her love for him by tattooing "Love Hard...TnT" on her arm. The same month, the rapper gave her a gold bracelet with two "T" initials, which stands for "Tina and Tunechi," the couple's nicknames for each other.

"We're both very happy," Milian told Entertainment Tonight in May. "He's very special to me, yeah. For me, I'm so inspired by the relationship that I'm in that it's definitely an experience. It's that careless, hopeless, romantic love -- that feeling of 'I will do anything for you' and it's just incredible."
