Lupita Nyong'o and Jared Leto have been seen together at awards season events, prompting people to suspect that they might be dating.

"I thought Miley Cyrus broke us up," Nyong'o joked about the rumors on The Ellen Degeneres Show.

Us Weekly reports that Cyrus slept over in February after the pair spent some time together on Grammy weekend and at the iHeartRadio Festival.

"You know it's crazy 'cause when I read these rumors, they're so detailed that even I start to question whether they're true or not," she said. "I know I've believed them in the past, and now I guess I can't believe anything."

Nyong'o recently stopped at a Hudson News newsstand at New York airport where she saw a copy of New York Magazine with herself on the cover:

"I bought one and was trying to be discreet, but then the guy behind the counter was like 'Oh, my God! You look like her,' and I was like ya...nevermind."

Jared Leto also joked about their supposed romance.

"I want to thank all the women I've been with and all the women who think they've been with me... and my future ex-wife, Lupita," he said at the 2014 Film Independent Spirit Awards held in Santa Monica, Calif.

Leto, 42, also joked about this relationship with Nyong'o after he won the award for Best Supporting Male for his work in the film Dallas Buyers Club.

Leto, who also received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role as an HIV-positive transsexual in Dallas Buyers Club, will be bringing his mother Constance for support on Oscars night. The actor credits his mother for his success and said he likes taking her to red carpet events as a way of thanking her. He reportedly invitedher over a video call earlier this week.

''We were born very poor and into pretty humble surroundings. My mother always wanted to do something better with her life and for her children," Leto said.

''She was a dreamer and a worker. The biggest lesson she taught me was to dream and then to do the work that it takes to make dreams a reality. It has been fun to bring her around. The best part of these opportunities to stand up and say something is to be able to thank the people who have believed in you for so long. I could spend every single one of these events thanking my mother. She's the best.''
