Google announced the update to the Nexus 5 smartphone Tuesday with the Nexus 5X phone, designed by LG.

The new Nexus 5X will feature a 5.2-inch screen and will be much easier to hold than the larger Nexus 6P, which was also introduced Tuesday, Tech Radar reports. The dimensions for the Nexus 5X will be 147 mm x 72.6 mm x 7.9 mm.

The screen on the Nexus 5X will be full-HD (1080p) with a screen resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 and 424 pixels per inch (ppi). The display will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and there will also be a fingerprint and smudge-resistant coating.

The camera in the Nexus 5X will be the best Google has ever put into one of its Nexus devices. The camera's 1.55 micron pixels will allow the camera to capture additional light, improving the pictures taken with the otherwise unimpressive 12.3 megapixels (MP). The extra microns will make taking indoor and low-light pictures much more satisfying. The rear-facing camera will also be equipped with a laser-assisted autofocus.

The internal components of the Nexus 5X are pretty similar to the LG G4, LG's latest flagship phone. The Nexus 5X will use the same 808 Snapdragon processor. However, the LG G4 has 3GB of RAM, while the Nexus 5X will only be equipped with 2GB.

Charging the battery will be especially simple if Google's claims are true. With fast charging through the USB C port, the Nexus 5X can be charged in half the time of an iPhone. Also, Google says charging the phone for just 10 minutes will give it almost four hours of additional battery life.

LG has also equipped the Nexus 5X with an imprint sensor that is extremely fast. Google says the sensor will unlock in less than 600 milliseconds. This sensor will be very important for Android Pay.

The confirmed price for the Nexus 5X will be $379.
