2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil is the official World Cup video game. It is due to release in April 2014, though a specific day has yet to be given. World Cup Brazil is published by EA Sports and will be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 only. Despite heavy criticism of the game only being available on these two consoles, there are no plans to expand World Cup Brazil to other consoles.

A lot has been said about the fairly weak adoption rates of next generation consoles in some markets. Some of those weak markets, including Brazil, are the target markets for this game which is why they decided to only release it on the two most popular consoles: PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

FIFA 14 was just released last September, but designers promise the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil will have new features and modes that will make it a separate game, entirely different from FIFA 14.

Game designers listened to their FIFA fans and added some new and improved animations to World Cup Brazil such as better passing accuracy and dribbling. The goalies have a couple of new animations that are really fun, one of which is allowing the goalie to try to psych out a penalty taker. Just press the face button before the penalty kick is taken to execute one of the four mind game animations.

World Cup Brazil has several brand new modes. There is one that lets players choose from all the national teams that participated in the World Cup qualifiers and take that team through the qualifying process and to the World Cup. There is also an online tournament, Road to Rio de Janeiro, where game-players compete in all of the real 2014 World Cup Brazil venues. A great mode for single players is Captain Your Country, which lets the player control one player that they then try to progress from a B-team to being team captain and taking the World Cup. It sounds like this feature-rich game will have a lot to like.
