On Monday's "Blindspot" Season 1, Episode 3, "Eight Slim Grins," Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) learns she has the same Navy SEAL tattoo as a recently captured jewel thief. A man from Jane's memory visits her. Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and Bethany Mayfair (Marianne Jean-Baptiste) try to define Jane's role on the FBI team.

In the trailer for the episode, Jane is shown being grabbed from behind by a bearded man (Johnny Whitworth), but she fights back and gets the upper hand.

"Who did this to me?" she asks him -- he is the man from her memory. "Why did they send me to the FBI?"

"You can't trust no one," he tells her.

In the next scene, Patterson (Ashley Johnson) reports to the FBI team about a jewelry heist that happened in the morning. She says Jane's Navy SEAL tattoo matches one of the perpetrator's exactly.

A man is shown running away from FBI agents in an alley. He shoots at them

"We can't lose this guy, he is the only lead we have to figuring out who I am," Jane says.

In Episode 2, "A Stray Howl," the FBI team tested Jane's DNA. Weller believes Jane could be Taylor Shaw, the little girl whom his father was accused of kidnapping and killing. A scar on her neck leads him to think she is Shaw.

Jane's DNA results will be revealed on "Eight Slim Grins."

In last week's episode, Dr. Borden (Ukweli Roach) gave Jane a Rorschach test, but her only memories were of weapons training in the woods with a bearded man.

Weller puts Jane through more weapons training in hopes of jogging her memory. Jane is an expert gunslinger. She suddenly remembered shooting a nun in the back of the head at a church, but she did not tell Weller.

One of Jane's tattoos led the FBI to a man named Major Arthur Gibson, a former drone pilot who had planned to blow the whistle on the project, but it was phased out by the government before he could. Jane believed Gibson may know something about her. She accompanied the team to his Brooklyn home, but he refused to talk and demanded the team get off his property. As they walk to their vehicle, Gibson's house explodes.

Gibson was not killed. He had previously worked for a secret domestic drone surveillance program, and he took off with a drone armed with two more missiles. He was determined to take revenge on people who he believed worked against him. He kidnapped a little girl to use a hostage.

Jane and the team tracked Gibson down to a construction site in Brooklyn, but he fled in a vehicle. Jane and Weller stopped him and saved the little girl.

The episode ended with Jane surveying the ruins of her safe house refrigerator when someone grabbed her from behind . . . the bearded man in her flashback.
