Joe Giudice admits his "Real Housewives of New Jersey" reality show spouse Teresa Guidice is struggling with her time behind bars and away from her family.

In a candid interview, the 43-year-old series co-star shared his thoughts with Entertainment Tonight

"She's holding up. I can't say she's doing great but she looks good," he said. "She keeps her spirits up and tries to make us feel like she's OK but she's really not. She wants to be home."

Teresa is serving out the remainder of her 15-month sentence on bank fraud-related charges. She is expected to be released from the Danbury Correctional facility sometime around Christmas. After she is released, Joe is slated to commence serving out the terms of a 41-month sentence on similar charges.

He also shared that his wife has been keeping busy by working out, reading, and working out some more. Joe also claimed she has a job at the jail, but she hasn't share much detail about it with him or any of their four young daughters.

"She says she's got an easy job. She likes it. She doesn't want to change. I think she wipes down a couple tables a day," he said. "She's done within three minutes and that's her job. I think she's making a dollar a day or maybe a dollar a month. I'm not sure."

Once she is formally released, Teresa has already signed on to rejoin the cast of "Real Housewives," and word is her salary could reach as high as $2 million per season. In addition, she is also slated to appear in a three-part special starring the entire family, which focuses on Joe's struggles to hold the family together while she is away.

"The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In" is slated to premiere on Oct. 11.
