Seattle Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll is still optimistic despite his team's below average 2-4 win-loss record.

The Seahawks just came out of a loss against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, Oct. 18, with a final score of 27-23 at their own stronghold, the CenturyLink Field in Washington, NFL.com noted. However, Carroll is not yet giving his hopes up that everything will turn out well for his team, the NFC champions for the past two seasons, Seattle Times reported, citing his statements on a radio show on ESPN 710 Seattle.

"This season is not done at all. It's just been very, very challenging," Carroll said.

What is actually devastating for the Seattle team and their fans is that their last two losses were almost victories that turned out bad. The Hawks seemed to have lost control in the fourth quarter. Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Seahawks with a 27-24 score on Oct. 11, per the Seattle's site, just a week before Panthers did.

So, what's happening with the 2014 Super Bowl champions, who also came back last year to defend their title to the New England Patriots, the current champs?

Panthers' tight end Greg Olsen, who scored a touchdown with Seahawks' safety Earl Thomas and cornerback Richard Sherman nearby, per The Big Lead, reportedly said, "I don't know what happened on their side, but there was a lot of space to run."

"We made a mistake on the calls. Guys got confused on the signal. So it was unfortunate obviously and they got an easy play," Carroll explained their loss to Panthers, per another report from NFL.com.

It was just heartbreaking because the coach even projected a 6-0 record by this time, per the Seattle Times. Aside from Carroll, the Hawks' fans may also be anticipating a much greater standing from their favorite team, especially with a May article from Seattle PI noting that the Hawks have a great chance to capture the Super Bowl 50 victory this season, citing sports book "Bovada."

Still, Thomas, along with Carroll, is still looking ahead for a brighter future.

"It is a part of the story. We are going to outlast this. This is why we are in this position in the first place. This is why we are the best, you know. These situations, they are not going to break us," Thomas told The Olympian.

Seattle will next have a showdown with the San Francisco 49ers, who also posts a 2-4 record under their name, on Thursday, Oct. 22, at the Levi's Stadium, the 49ers' territory.
