The world of technology requires a lot of forward-thinking. The same holds true for video games. Its most prized son has just released for PC this year, but talks regarding "GTA 6" are already up and about.

The latest rumor about the highly anticipated sequel claims that Rockstar already has an idea of the game's overall look as well as the features it will come with.

Sources told NeuroGadget that the roadmap of "GTA 6" is nearly finished and developers already know exactly what the game will have in store.

The tip might not be as revealing as others before it, but it does support prior rumors suggesting that the game will likely be released in three years' time.

Considering the fact that "GTA 5" debuted in 2013 and even the largest AAA titles don't take five years to make, "GTA 6" could very well launch in 2018.

It should be noted though that Rockstar has built a reputation for being very meticulous with its work. It's better to wait for the studio's official announcement than to estimate when the next GTA sequel will be released, lest falling flat on expectation.

Rockstar has yet to mention a timeframe for "GTA 6" but the studio has already been dishing out tidbits about the rumored sequel.

"GTA 5" is an open-world masterpiece bustling with things to do and areas to explore. While the game doesn't have much to add in terms of gameplay, it noticeably lacked the presence of a lead female character, which is also missing in prior "GTA" games.

But Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser revealed the studio has considered this idea in previous titles.

"In the future, could we do a game with a lead female character? Of course," Houser told The Guardian back in 2013. "We just haven't found the right game for it yet, but it's one of the things we always think about."

Meanwhile, Hollywood actor Ryan Gosling was rumored to be the inspiration behind the next lead in "GTA 6." Movie Pilot pointed out that Rockstar developers designed the character with "The Notebook" actor in mind.

The report also hinted the possibility of the game returning to Vice City in the 1980s.

In the meantime, Rockstar is still rolling out "GTA 5" DLCs and "GTA Online" updates every now and then. The studio is also busy fixing all the game's bugs and issues. In other words, developers still have a lot of polishing up to do with "GTA 5." For now, they might not have a lot of time to invest on "GTA 6."
