Ariana Grande said on Tuesday she has decided she's going to take as much time as she needs to work on her upcoming album "Moonlight."

The 22-year-old singer recently released her lead single "Focus" from the album, and it seems to have gotten a lukewarm response from her fans, according to That Grape Juice.

The track, which was thought to be in competition with Adele's hit "Hello," landed at No. 5 on iTunes behind two Justin Bieber songs and Drake's "Hotline Bling."

In light of the track's lack of popularity, Grande has decided to take her time when it comes to perfecting her forthcoming album.

"I'm going to take my time and make it the best I'm capable of. sit tight, my babies," Grande wrote on Twitter in response to an inquiring fan on Tuesday.

The singer also recently spoke out against sexism, after Power 106 radio DJs Justin Credible and Eric D-Lux asked her a question she found offensive.

The DJs asked the singer, "If you could use makeup or your phone one last time, which one would you pick?"

Grande responded, "Is this what you think girls have trouble choosing between? Is this men assuming that that's what girls would have to choose between?"

Later in the same interview, Grande discussed the things she would change about the world if she could.

"Judgment in general; intolerance, meanness, double standards, misogyny, racism, sexism," Grande said were her main concerns.

The singer also recently premiered her "Focus" music video. In the clip, Grande shows off her frosty white locks and struts her stuff on a purple stage with a group of back-up dancers. As the video continues, the colors shift to black and white. Grande wears a star-print leotard and shows off her skills while playing the trumpet.

Grande first debuted "Focus" in the commercial for her new perfume Ari by Ariana Grande in early October.

The singer's upcoming album, "Moonlight," will be the follow-up to her 2014 disc "My Everything," which topped the Billboard 200 chart and reached No. 3 in the U.K. The album produced hits, such as "Problem," "Break Free," "Bang Bang," "Love Me Harder" and "One Last Time."
