Are you a hardcore Xbox One and Diablo 3 fan? Then be prepared to cry or go to the dark side and purchase a gaming PC or Sony PS4 to get your fix. According to Forbes, Reaper of Souls, the first expansion pack to the wildly successful action role-playing game Diablo 3, is at this point in time, coming to the PS4 first.

"I don't know where we are with Microsoft right now so I can't really comment on what that contract looks like," Diablo 3's lead producer Alex Mayberry explained to Videogamer.com. "The point is we are developing for Xbox [One] and PS4 simultaneously. We hit those major platforms and then our goal as a development team is to make them run."

"We've already done it with the 360 and PS3, so that team knows how to develop at the same time for both of those platforms. That's just what we do. And then Blizzard and Microsoft can work out whatever they work out."

Hardly any 1080p gameplay. No consistent deployment of high frame rate 60p gaming. Inaccurate voice and motion controls that frustrate the user more than helping him or her? And Diablo 3 hasn't been announced for the Xbox One yet? What's Microsoft's deal? Does it even want to sell consoles or is it more interested in pushing $499 vaporware?

Console shaming aside, it's unfortunate for Microsoft fans who want to play the newest Diablo game. So turning an eye towards the competition, what can PS4 fans expect out of Reaper of Souls? Does the expansion bring something significantly new to the table in terms of exciting new gameplay styles and missions or is it just the same game being sold to suckers?

Read this juicy tidbit courtesy of Battle.net and decide for yourself:

"The Prime Evil rages within the Black Soulstone, its essence screaming for vengeance and release. Before the artifact can be sealed away forever, Malthael-Angel of Death-manifests in the mortal realms with a deadly new purpose: to steal the Black Soulstone and bend its infernal power to his will.So begins the end of all things..."

That's awesome! Now, word on the street is that Reaper of Souls will be similar to Diablo 3 in one very important aspect: how addicting it is. The expansion will be wildly popular and people might be even fired from their jobs from playing it all day and night. more of the same addicting gameplay albeit in a slightly different package?

When can you get your hands on all this goodness? Be patient for awhile longer because the release date for the PS4 and of course the Xbox One has yet to be announced.

Will you be purchasing Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition for the PS4? If the game somehow never arrives to the Xbox One, would you consider switching platforms in order to play the game? Let us know in the comments section below.
