Lara Spencer has confirmed that she will be sticking around for a little while longer in her current position at Good Morning America.

Spencer has appeared on Good Morning America since 2011 as a lifestyle anchor. Before that, she served as a national correspondent for GMA from 1999 to 2003. She is very excited about the decision to extend her contract even further with the hit morning show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"You know you're in the right job when getting up at 4 a.m. is a joy," Spencer said in a statement to the magazine. "This was a simple decision; I love what I do, and I adore the people I work with. I am thrilled to be on this team and look forward to many more years."

Good Morning America is equally as happy to have Spencer on board again. With the new contract in place, expect to see Spencer for more than just mornings on ABC. The contract will help broaden her brand and include Spencer in more ABC programming.

The GMA team "couldn't be happier," said GMA vice-president Jeffrey Schneider to The Hollywood Reporter.

He later commented, "Lara is a uniquely gifted anchor at the top of her game, she brings so much energy, fun and smarts to every single broadcast. She is beloved by our viewers with good reason."

The deal between GMA and Spencer follows her pact with fellow anchor Robin Roberts to stay at the hit morning show.

Prior to Spencer's deal, GMA weather anchor Sam Champion left the show in September and there are rumors that another GMA anchor Josh Elliot is considering an offer from NBC Sports. Elliot has just one month left in his ABC contract.
