The Season 13 premiere of "Grey's Anatomy" is just around the corner and it's conceivable that another tear-jerking death could be on the horizon. The release date for the new season of the ABC show is set for September 22, 2016.

According to Carter Matt, even though another high-profile death so soon after Derek's (Patrick Dempsey) demise would seem somewhat unnatural, you never know with "Grey's Anatomy," which has made a habit of seeing big-time characters come and go over the years.

Reconciliation in the air

This season, things could be different. Rumors are at least a part of the season could focus on Jackson (Jesse James) and April (Sarah Kepner) giving their relationship another try, if for no more than for the sake of the young child they share.

April could also be on the verge of working out her long held differences with Arizona (Jessica Capshaw).

What Will Meredith do?

As for Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), her life continues to rival a roller-coaster ride in terms of dramatic effect. At the end of season 12, she finally seemed on her way to potential happiness with Nathan (Martin Henderson) but now comes word her sister Maggie (Kelly McCreary) could also have feelings for him.

Returning series regular Camila Luddington (Jo Wilson) recently posted a pic to her Instagram page alerting fans that cameras on the new season are set to start rolling in early August.

At the end of last season, viewers were left wondering what will come of Jo and Alex (Alex Karev) after he asked her to marry him and she rebuffed him without letting on that she is already married.

"Grey's Anatomy also stars Jesse Williams (Jackson Avery), Giacomo Gianniotti (Andrew Deluca), Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) and Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey).
