Apple's iPhone 8 will be going to be the first iPhone in history to feature an OLED screen like the ones found on the competing handsets from Samsung. Interestingly Apple's rival Samsung is going to be the sole supplier of OLED displays for Apple's best iPhone of the year. But Apple is looking for the alternative to fix this problem in the years that follow because Samsung alone won't be able to fulfill Apple's iPhone needs.

According to BGR reports says that Samsung and other display makers including LG and Japan Display will invest heavily in OLED factories because Apple is moving from LCD screens to OLED screens. Chines Company named BOE has already sent OLED screens to Apple for testing but it is still not cleared whether they've been deemed suitable for the next generation iPhone, not the iPhone 8, the iPhones which are coming in 2018.

As per Express Apple is rumored to have signed a new contract with smartphone rival Samsung who is working hard on the upcoming launches of its own phone, the hotly-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S8. Apple has reportedly placed an order for 16 million OLED panels from Samsung which they will use in the iPhone 8.

The Apple iPhone 8, which some sources claim will be marketed as iPhone X is widely-tipped to sport an OLED screen when it debuts in last year September. Apple likely needs all the panels it can get for its new flagship smartphone.

The OLED panels are expected to be between 5.2-inches and 5.8-inches. Apple is purportedly planning an extreme redesign to mark the 10th anniversary of the iPhone range.

In the future, Apple will want all of its iPhones to have OLED displays, and the same probably goes with the other products it sells. Android device makers, in turn, will likely move to OLED displays as supply increases and OLED screens become even more affordable.
