Out of the four biggest U.S. carriers, three - AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint - have already pushed the Android 7.0 Nougat update into their versions of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. However, right now, Verizon is also sending out this long-awaited OS upgrade to its variants of Samsung's flagship phone.

According to Android Police, this official update to the Android 7.0 also follows the Galaxy Beta Program, which allows select customers to test the Nougat on their phones. While Verizon was initially part of this program, it dropped out after just a month.

This has left customers with the option to either stay in the 7.0 beta or roll back to the previous Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. A month after that, the Galaxy Beta Program wrapped up, making Verizon customers no really missing out on much.

Verizon's Android updates for the Samsung S7 and S7 Edge are pretty much similar to other big-name carriers. According to a report from Sam Mobile, the update doesn't specifically say which security patch does the update bring but just given how all other U.S. carrier updates have included the February 1st, 2017 patch, it is safe to say that Verizon has included it as well.

There is the same, yet revised and more refined UI, the same multi-window change, and etc. Probably the one thing that Verizon has done is ditching its go90 app, which was a decision that many people don't think will be much of an issue moving forward.

All the consumers who happen to have a Verizon-branded Samsung S7 or S7 edge may want to check for the latest Android 7.0 updates now. Verizon also knows that the U.S. unlocked Galaxy S7 series still hasn't received Nougat just yet, but the carrier company will let you know when Samsung has finally decided to push that into place.
