Whether Saul "Canelo" Alvarez wins or loses against World Boxing Council middleweight champion Miguel Cotto on Nov. 21, in Las Vegas, he is still the warrior Abel Sanchez wants for his fighter, Gennady "GGG" Golovkin, if given a choice.

The world class trainer thinks highly of the Mexican rising superstar, and for him, a Golovkin-Canelo bout would be bigger compared to a Golovkin-Cotto match up.

"I think Canelo is the bigger fight. I think Canelo brings more of the fan base that Gennady is acquiring also. The Mexicans love their sacrifice and I think anywhere in the States, anywhere in the Southern part of the States, it would be huge. If Canelo beats Cotto then obviously Canelo is the bigger fight. If Cotto beats Canelo I still think Canelo would be the bigger fight because he brings more people to the table," Sanchez told On The Ropes Boxing Radio.

This is such a compliment from the coach who criticized earlier names given to him by Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler, when they were still planning a fight this fall for the Kazakh knockout master. Sanchez frankly dismissed the idea of having his fighter face Erislandy Lara (21-2-2, 12KOs) and former champion Sergio Mora (28-3-2, 9KOs). Golovkin's trainer told Boxing Scene outright that Lara and Mora do not deserve a fight against "Triple G."

This high regard for the 24-year-old boxer, who only bowed to Floyd Mayweather Jr., might have also stemmed from the trainer's prediction that "Canelo" would not run away from Golovkin if he triumphs over Cotto.

"If Cotto wins against Canelo, I don't think Cotto wants anything to do with Golovkin. I think he's running from Golovkin...I think that Canelo himself being a young gun and having that Mexican following, he's not going to shy away from a tough fight," Sanchez said.

Since the International Boxing Organization and World Boxing Association king is the WBC's mandatory challenger, Golovkin will definitely be anticipating the winner of the Cotto-Canelo bout officially announced to be held at the Mandalay Bay.

Meanwhile, the undefeated "Triple G" is out to prove his worth in the eyes of both Cotto's and Alvarez's fans. He will be colliding with the International Boxing Federation champ David Lemieux on Oct. 17, at the Madison Square Garden in New York. The event is something to watch out for as it is a unification battle between two title holders, and the winner will walk away proudly with three belts under his name.
