"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." executive producers Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen shared what's in store for viewers on the first episode of season 3.

On the show's airing on Sept. 29, the audience will definitely feel the "big time jump" teased by Chloe Bennet on Zap2it.

Tancharoen confirmed this to be true, as she reveals the series will also show new partnerships formed over the course of this period.

"Three months have passed — you'll feel that as soon as the first episode begins. There are new partnerships within the team, there's definitely a new mission and you'll feel the state of the world and what's happening," the executive producer told Entertainment Weekly.

Whedon also stated that everyone in Phil Coulson's (Clark Gregg) agency "had to adapt" with the changes happening in the world. Tancharoen specifically noted that the big change would be brought out by the terrigen-contaminated fish oil shown in last season's finale.

In the finale, the mists from the terrigen crystals were released into the ocean and were ingested or taken in by various sea creatures, including fish. These fish were harvested and used as a source for a mass-scale production of fish oil.

Will global terrigenesis — where Inhumans manifest powers because of their exposure to terrigen mists — take place soon?

Tancharoen teased that the scene could indicate "more Inhumans popping up all over the place."

She mentioned that the S.H.I.E.L.D will have a more active role in screening "who they can help through this process, figure out who's good and who's bad."

When asked if the terrigen mists will only affect Inhumans and not harm the humans, especially they underwent the "fish oil process," Whedon replied that the fist episode will answer these questions.

More couples soon?

The executive producers also hinted more romance brewing in the show.

"There are some that have broken up in the past episodes, there are some maybe getting back together, there's potential for some new ones. We do have a fair amount of people on our show, and when you're stuck with people and they're fighting the good fight, those heightened situations tend to throw you together," Whedon shared.

Who could they be? Will it be Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) and Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) finally becoming more than friends, or will it be an all-Inhuman love between Daisy Johnson (Bennet) and Lincoln Campbell (Luke Mitchell)?

Perhaps, Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) and Dr. Andrew Garner (Blair Underwood) will reunite? Fans of Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) will surely want them to be back together, too.
