Following the success of the Oscar-winning 12 Years a Slave, its lead actor has already been mentioned to play another famous role in cinema. The James Bond series of films have enthralled world audiences since the 1960s and the upcoming film may include an actor who only a couple months ago narrowly won an Oscar.

Chiwetel Ejiofor has been tapped to play the new Bond villain, a role just as important as 007 himself. According to USA Today, Ejiofor is the studio's "top choice" for the role but no offer has yet been made.

The British actor has played countless roles over the years but he rose to stardom after he expertly depicted the life of Solomon Northup, a black man taken captive into the slave-holding South. According to The Wrap, Sam Mendes, the director of Skyfall, will direct the new movie and, if Ejiofor does take the role, he will act alongside Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris.

Though the actor has not been formally approached and is not even in any talks, Ejiofor is the preferred actor for the role. Producing the movie are Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson and it will be in production from November until April 2015. Although no title has been given to the movie, its predecessor's screenwriter, John Logan, will write the Bond 24 movie.

Casting for the new movie will begin shortly and will include two key female roles: the new Bond girl, as well as a Scandinavian who will be Bond's brief love interest. Skyfall netted more than $1.1 billion worldwide and the new movie will be expected to fair just as well. Who else do you think should play the villain in the next Bond film?
