John Cena successfully underwent surgery on Thursday in Birmingham, Alabama for his torn labrum that will take six to nine months to recover. According to PWInsider, all WrestleMania 32 plans were scrapped in light of the injury to its biggest star.

Cena requested to have the surgery as soon as possible and is officially out for the biggest event of the year, but will probably appear on in some sort of segment. The 15-time champion was just coming off two months of filming FOX's new reality show before announcing his injury on Twitter.

The 38-year-old adds to the growing list of WWE injuries including her girlfriend Nikki Bella, Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, Tyson Kidd, Randy Orton, and Seth Rollins. The original plan for Cena was to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, one of the main event matches that can attract 100,000 fans inside the AT&T Stadium.

Many fans believed that it will be The Undertaker's retirement match at WrestleMania with him working an increased schedule and celebrating his 25th Anniversary in the WWE at Survivor Series. It was a great build towards WrestleMania 32 in his home state of Texas and the best option for him to go out in front of thousands of fans.

In a report by What Culture, they suggested possible replacements for The Undertaker's opponent at WrestleMania including Braun Strowman, Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns and The Rock. Strowman is a likely candidate given his dominance and the unfinished storyline with The Undertaker while Kevin Owens has expressed his desire to wrestle "The Deadman" in previous interviews.

Reigns' story is building towards a culminating match against Triple H and The Rock is not allowed to wrestle any matches because of a clause on his movie contract. As for the superstar to fill Cena's star power in the Road to WrestleMania, Brock Lesnar will be making his television return on Monday Night RAW next week.

Lesnar's mere presence is always a major boost to the WWE and he will very important in building two of the biggest events of the year, the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania, per FOX News. "The Beast" has not been seen since defeating The Undertaker at Hell in a Cell last October.

"By the mere fact that Brock Lesnar will physically appear live in the ring at Monday Night RAW, you are guaranteed something to talk about the next day at work. When Brock Lesnar comes along with me, you know something substantive is going to be said and perhaps something impactful is going to happen," Paul Heyman told FOX News.
