Thanks to her new passion project "El Voto Hispano," Eva Longoria has a lot on her plate these days.

On April 21, Longoria announced that she will be a producer for the "El Voto Hispano" documentary. The multi-talented star explained her motives behind joining the project, which has limited time left to raise funds in its Kickstarter campaign.

"We wanted to do the Kickstarter campaign in the same vein of a democratic process..." Longoria told E! News. "We're trying to show Latinos, you matter, you count."

Longoria's producing experience includes Lifetime's "Devious Maids" and documentaries like "The Harvest" and "Food Chains." Plus, the star is vocal about politics; in 2012, she was one of President Barack Obama's biggest fundraisers, according to Forbes.

"[Latinos] made such a difference in getting Obama elected in 2012, yet we still have one of the lowest turnouts among all ethnicities, and we still have the lowest turnout in midterm elections ... You can be energized to turn out for a presidential election but not motivated enough to elect the people you have to work with, I think that's a problem," she continued. "One of the things we want to let Latinos know is that you have got to show up in midterm elections, too."

The Latina hopes that the documentary format will help people "digest information and facts a lot easier," especially considering "what's going to happen with demographic changes in the United States with Latinos."

That's a lot for one star to handle, but could Longoria also squeeze in a "Desperate Housewives" reunion? It would appear not.

"I think Marc [Cherry] is super busy and successful with 'Devious Maids,'" she explained. "We fully explored the range of each character and Marc always says that there's really not much more to tell, but I love the girls and I miss playing Gaby."

But what else will Longoria do with the little amount of downtime she does have?

"I'm a runner," Longoria said this week of her workout routing. "I don't need a gym. I'll go run anywhere. I was in Australia, Budapest and Paris...In Australia and I went running around the botanical gardens and when I got to Paris I ran around the Eiffel Tower."
