Actress Gina Rodriguez used her weekly "Movement Mondays" social media post to highlight Tanya Saracho, a talented Latina who works behind the scenes of television as a writer.

In her latest post, on Feb. 29, Rodriguez explained that Saracho is a Mexico-born playwright and writer from Chicago, whose work on television includes "Devious Maids," "Girls," "Looking" and "How to Get Away With Murder."

The talented writer is also known for her plays, such as "Kita and Fernanda," "Our Lady of the Underpass," "The Tenth Muse," "Mala Hierba" and "Hushabye." She was named Best New Playwright by Chicago Magazine in 2010.

"Tanya, I will be rooting you on and know it's only a matter of time when you get nominated for an Oscar for your film one day for best screenplay!" Rodriguez captioned a photo of Saracho's Time Out Chicago magazine cover.

In the post, Rodriguez also took the opportunity to congratulate Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu, who won his second Oscar for Best Director, and Best Animated Short Film winner Gabriel Osorio for their success at the 2016 Academy Awards.

"Latinos are very proud of you and continue to support your films!" she wrote.

In her previous "Movement Mondays" post, the "Jane the Virgin" star challenged the idea of a typical Latino appearance with a photo and quote from Afro-Cuban actor Laz Alonso. Rodriguez encouraged people to highlight and celebrate their unique Latino nationalities and backgrounds, but to also come together as one entire community.

"In this country there has been an on going conversation about encompassing the Latino Community in one vision but that's impossible because we come in all different shades and sizes, with different traditions, different slang and different life experiences," she wrote.

"It's not about understanding every little detail about the vast Latino communities but instead understanding that we have ancestry everywhere and are capable of looking many different ways and that being ok and acceptable!"

In her other posts, Rodriguez has discussed director Robert Rodriguez's work opening doors for Latinos in Hollywood, Latinas starring on popular television shows, Latinos gaining more roles in action and comic book films, and the importance of Latino audiences supporting films that star Latino actors.
