John Cena did show off before that he was busy getting himself back into shape. Such led many to speculate that the Cenation leader could somehow defy the odds and be at Wrestlemania 32.

Cena showed off some tweets back in February, lifting some weights as he tries to return from his shoulder injury. But the reality of it all is that such is only a sign that Cena is back in the weight room, getting himself back into shape and nothing else.

Non-wrestling Role

The good news is that Cena doesn’t really have to slug it out in the ring with other WWE stars to join the WWE extravaganza. He will likely appear and use his talent behind the microphone when the Wrestlemania 32 takes center stage at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on April 3.

Aside from the possible appearance, Cena is not expected to get it on with any of the stars, at least until July, when he could be cleared for a return.

Missing Three WWE Pay-per-views as Well

With Cena still a long way from being cleared, it will mean that he will also miss succeeding pay-per-views. That includes Payback, Extreme Rules and Battleground.

With that said, the WWE will have to find a way to make do without its current face and continue to rely on rising stars and fresh faces that they have at the moment.

Randy Orton is reportedly set for a return and it will likely happen after Wrestlemania 32. Orton suffered a shoulder injury back in November, but it seems that his recovery has gone well.

Missed Opportunities

Cena would have been the perfect WWE star to appear in a wrestling role at Wrestlemania 32. He was being groomed to give the Undertaker a proper send-off to retirement, but all that got muddled when he suffered that untimely shoulder injury back in January.

With Cena out, it seems Shane McMahon will have to send the Dead Man into retirement, with word that Shane-O-Mac is favored to win (in some way).

Shane and the Undertaker will face off in a “Hell in a Cell” match. A win by Shane-O-Mac will award him control of WWE Raw, while a victory by the Dead Man will allow him to keep his legacy and wrestle on.

Difficult as it may be to depict, seeing Shane end the career of the Undertaker is seen as likely, considering he is still a “McMahon”. And whether he is at odds with his estranged father or not, the fact remains that someone from the McMahon family is the best option compared to the list of available stars in the WWE roster right now.
