The WWE is on the verge of applying a major change soon with word that the company will be rebranding the WWE Divas division to the old WWE Women’s championship.

Plans of doing so came out back in December when the WWE asked the fans to vote on WWE.com the championship they would want to be brought back and the WWE Women’s Championship was among them.

At that time, fans were asked to vote via WWE.com on the following championship titles:

  1. Hardcore Championship
  2. European Championship
  3. Cruiserweight Championship
  4. Million Dollar Championship
  5. Women’s Championship

Top diva wrestlers such as reigning champion Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Natalya aired their opinion on the matter and seemed to be all-in as far as bringing back the title.

Though there was no certainty that the WWE would actually hear out and apply the voting results, it may have done the next best thing by rebranding the WWE Divas title following WrestleMania 32.

Who Will Be the Last WWE Divas Champion?

The WWE Divas championship will be on the line at WrestleMania 32 with Charlotte defending her title via a Triple Threat match against Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch.

It will be interesting if Charlotte stays as champion following the match, though Banks and Lynch have been known to carry issues before. The storyline would later on be overshadowed when the two joined forces as a tag team until the title opportunity made it every diva for herself.

Better But Smaller WWE Women’s Belt

Whether it be Charlotte, Banks or Lynch snagging the title, the fact is that the actual belt will only be worn temporarily. Whoever wins it will have the honor of retiring the WWE Divas belt before the newly branded WWE division is introduced the following day.

The new belt will be presented on Raw, which will bare a strong similarity to the WWE Heavyweight title. The only difference in appearance is that it will be padded on a white leather strap and will be smaller to the heavyweight title currently held by WWE COO Triple H.

New Twists Forthcoming?

With the transition, such could include new angles as well as when it comes to the storyline tied up with the title. The title may be different but the fact remains that it is the bragging rights of being a champion that outweighs such.

Ironically, WWE Raw will also be the alleged show where Brie Bella will be announcing her retirement from active duty. Brie will focus on attending to husband Daniel Bryant but will still appear as a “Total Diva”.
