In Coca Cola's newest "Share a Coke" campaign music is front and center with lyrics from over 70 songs printed on the packaging of Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero and Cola-Cola Life bottles.

Some of these lyrics are from some of Latin Music's biggest hits such as Elvis Crespo's "Suavemente," Carlos Santana's "Oye Como Va," Enrique Iglesias' "Bailamos," Prince Royce's "Stand by Me and Carlos Vives' "Ella es mi Fiesta."

Other song lyrics featured in the campaign include those by artists like Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Queen, Nelly, Cyndi Lauper, The Fresh Prince, Marvin Gaye, Imagine Dragons and many more.

While the inclusion of several Latin music artists credits the popularity of Latin music in the U.S., Coca-Cola's choice to include Latin songs is a strong statement about the importance and relevancy Latino culture has in depicting American life, a mission that American companies like Coca-Cola are known for.

This idea is further evident in the company's choice to use Prince Royce's "Stand By Me" as the soundtrack to one of their commercials.

The commercial depicts one of Latino cultures most popular right of passage ceremonies, the Quinceañera.

Instead of using the Ben. E King's original version of the song, Coca-Cola catered to Latino-Americans and advertises a moment that is relatable to one of the country's largest minority groups with music that they could connect to and ithat s as much part of American culture as any other genre.

The campaign makes a strong statement about inclusion at a time when the Latino community is experiencing prejudice in America as a result of the 2016 presidential campaign and immigration laws.
