Fans have been lined up outside of Apple stores for the iPhone 7 release today Friday Sept. 16. With all the pre-orders at the time of its launch, there is only a limited amount left in stock and jet black models are already sold out.

The iPhone 7 Plus is also sold out mainly because of its dual lens camera which are reportedly hard to manufacture. No worries, the iPhone 7 is cheaper than the iPhone 7 Plus and most people probably already pre-ordered the larger version.

Although the iPhone 7 is in short supply this year, it may prompt buyers to make their pre-orders and ditch the big line outside of Apple and other retailers in the future. Will there be an iPhone 8 launch in 2017?

“We couldn’t be happier with the initial response to iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and we are looking forward to beginning sales through our retail stores and partners around the world,” Apple said in a statement.

iPhone 7 models in silver, gold, rose gold, and black will be available in stores on Friday. Walk-in customers cannot get the jet black iPhone 7 or the iPhone 7 Plus because it sold out during the pre-order process but there is still hope.

“Availability at partner locations for all finishes may vary and we recommend checking directly with them,” the statement continued.

There is luck that maybe a partner will have a few iPhone 7 Plus models and the iPhone 7 in jet black left. Fingers crossed.
