By the end of this year, Motorola will start installing Android 7.0 Nougat for its smartphones, as it promised back in October. The Moto Z and Moto Z Force will be the first-ever Motorola smartphones to get Nougat. They are officially getting the Nougat this week, as confirmed by Motorola to global rollout.

Last week's report on Tech Times, stated that the Verizon-exclusive Moto Z and Moto Z Force are now getting Android 7.0 Nougat.

According to Indian Express, OS upgrades on both the Moto Z and Moto Z Force will be hitting off with Daydream, which is one of Google's platforms for high-quality mobile virtual reality (VR). Both smartphones have been certified for the Daydream platform and are built for VR with high-resolution displays, high sensor and ultra-smooth graphics, as pointed out by Motorola. To use Daydream, users will need Google's VR headset and controller - Daydream View, which is available at Best Buy, Verizon and Google Store in the US.

To date, the only smartphones to support Daydream have been Google's own Pixel and Pixel XL, and many others are expected to have it in the years to come. But, as of now Motorola has rise up above all the others in the competition. Apart from having the most revolutionized Daydream feature on its smartphones, Android 7.0 Nougat offers Moto Z and Moto Z Force with the following features:

  • Improved UI
  • Better notification system
  • Instant apps
  • Work mode
  • Multi-window view
  • Enhanced battery optimization
  • Google Allo and Duo
  • Vulkan API
  • Seamless system updates
  • Improved multitasking and more

Moto Z is the first modular smartphones that comes with Moto Mods. Moto Mods are compatible with the Moto Z and Moto Z Play, and add advanced functionalities like battery life, camera, and projection quality.
