Justin Bieber has been in the news quite a bit lately, and unfortunately for the pop singer, it has rarely been good news. Bieber and his entourage are now being investigated for starting a brawl in the Hamptons, leaving one man sprawled out on the ground and requiring medical attention.

The altercation started early Sunday morning at around 3 a.m. when a female fan reportedly started flirting with Bieber while he was partying at a high-end night club in the Hamptons. After Bieber did not reciprocate her attention, a male friend of the woman's engaged Bieber in a heated exchange.

Bieber did not react calmly to the argument. The pop singer allegedly took off his shirt and began to wildly shout and gesture inside the night club. His security team swiftly took the singer out into the parking lot, but the man he had been arguing with followed him out of the club. Soon enough, it was lights out for the still-unidentified man.

"Upon his release from Peconic Bay Medical Center, the subject responded to Southampton Town Police Department...he was involved in an altercation and physically assaulted by subjects unknown to him but he believes them to be members of singer Justin Bieber's security staff who he stated were also at the night club," said a statement by Southampton police.

Allegedly, Bieber became irate when he saw that the man had followed him out to the parking lot, and climbed through his SUV's sunroof to confront his pursuer. Reports do not indicate that Bieber actually threw the punch that knocked the man out, and so far the singer has attempted to distance himself from the rumors.

"The most recent rumors might be the funniest of all. Where do u get this stuff??? #focusedonreality," tweeted the international pop sensation.

Bieber is no stranger to controversy, and has had to deal with rumors and ill-will for almost the entirety of his musical career. Needless to say, he is comfortable dealing with such a critical public eye at this point, and soon gave a follow-up tweet to let his fans know that he remains focused on what is important.

"Off to do what I love. Perform and see my fans. Focused on the positive and what is real. South Carolina see u soon. #BelieveTour," tweeted Bieber soon after his first post.

Southampton police are now conducting an investigation centered around the actions of Bieber's security guards during the altercation. He's had numerous instances of questionable behavior and run-ins with the law this year, including allegedly spitting on his neighbor, urinating in a restaurant's mop bucket, and racking up a laundry list of traffic fines in Dubai.
