This year, Central Park became the main host for the celebration of the Day of the Dead. The leaders of the planning committee believe that the celebration of the 2019 day of the dead in the city is good occasions to help the non-Hispanic population in the country to have a deeper understanding of this Hispanic tradition.

Brad Sneider, an executive judge said that the population of the Latin community in the United States of America had risen in the past years.

Patti Bugg, the commissioner of the city, had said that there are other options available to help educate citizens of the Hispanic culture. He believes that the 2019 day of the dead celebration is not a challenging and complicated celebration unless it involves summoning the dead. Being a Christian, Bugg believes that summoning the deceased loved one is impossible.

The organizer of the event is Abraham Brown. He said the 2019 day of the dead celebration will not mainly focus on religious matters of the Hispanic population living in the United States but more of an education for the non-Hispanic population in the US about the culture of Latinos.

According to Brown, the celebration of the Day of the Dead is the Hispanic culture of celebrating the memory of their departed loved ones. It is a celebration under the Hispanic culture to honor the passing of a family member or loved one. He dubbed the celebration of the Day of the Dead as a "remembrance celebration".

The day of the dead is a long-time Mexican tradition with children dancing with accessories that resemble death and come up with a reminder that every person's life is short. The celebration of the day of the dead reminds the people of the circle of life and that death is not something to be scared about. It promotes the belief that one should make the most out of every situation to achieve the maximum version of contentment and enjoyment in life.

There is a belief that the souls of the deceased visit Earth to watch over and guide the living on November 2. These souls go to their loved ones and protect during the day of the dead.

Some groups claim that the deceased loved ones are always providing guidance and protection to the living throughout the year and that November 2 or the day of the dead celebration is just a day set for reminiscing and honoring the dead.

According to Bugg, it is ideal that other groups of people will also participate in the event together with the Hispanic community. She believes that there can be unity despite cultural and religious differences in a multi-cultural community. She also said that everyone is entitled to choose their belief in religion and tradition but everyone also has the responsibility to respect and honor each person's differences in beliefs.

The 2019 day of the dead celebration was held on November 2, 2019, at Central Park, Henderson.
