Carbohydrates that are fast-absorbed by the body such as sweets helps stimulate the brain's neurotransmitters to release serotonin. For the body to recover, a person should choose the right comfort food.

Serotonin is a chemical produced by the brain to promote the feelings of good humor and well-being. This is the main reason why comfort is felt after eating sweets. However, eating sweets often is not good for a person's health.
