The Latin Recording Academy announced nominees for the 2020 Latin Grammys Awards.

On Tuesday, Latin Grammys Awards 2020 nominees were announced with Ozuna and reggaetón artists J Balvin, leading the list. Balvin's 13 bonds for the annual Latin Grammys made him the lead nominee followed by Bunny with nine entries and Ozuna with eight.

Last year, Venezuelan artist Nellan won the best new artist category, now led by Anuel AA, an artist with six other nominations, including well-known contenders like Mike Bahía, Nicki Nicole, Rauw Alejandro, and Cazzu. Added to the mix are Conociendo Rusia, Nathy Peluso, Pitizion, Soy Emilia, Kurt, and Wos.

On November 19, the Latin Grammys will be aired on the Univision network. Here are the 2020 best new artist nominees:

Anuel AA

Anuel AA released his debut album 'Real Hasta La Muerte' in 2018 that unveils his impressive skills as a songwriter and hitmaker as well as his ability to make radio-friendly and mainstream hits by urban and fusing pop. Anuel has since then cemented his position as a trap superstar. He has delivered back-to-back reggaeton and trap anthems. Simultaneously, Anuel released his soul-baring album 'Emmanuel' this year. It is up for best urban music album.

Mike Bahía

Mike Bahia, 34, is a Colombian singer who started his career eight years ago with rock band Capzula. Bahia then pursued being a soloist and released his first song in 2015 titled "Buscándote." The urban and pop singer released his first album 'Yo Soy,' produced by Sky, two years later. Recently, Mike Bahia collaborated with Llane, Mozart La Para, and PJ Sin Suela, with the reggae-infused 'Cuenta Conmigo,' with more than 24 million views.

Cazzu

Cazzu loves to experiment with genres like cumbia, rock, and reggae. She found her music career when she started singing trap and reggaeton. The Argentine artist makes waves in the Urbano space because of her poetic and honest lyrics that celebrate femininity.

Rauw Alejandro

The Puerto Rican singer-songwriter could be one of the new faces of Urbano. However, he's already making a splash from his fresh take on reggaetón that often fuses with R&B. Inspired by Chris Brown and Michael Jackson, as well as Wisin & Yandel, Daddy Yankee, Ozuna. The 27-year-old artist boasts collaborations with reggaeton veterans, including Farrukh, Nicky Jam, and Ozuna.

Conociendo Rusia

The rock/pop band led by Mateo Sujatovich is a standout in the Argentine rock scene. Conociendo Rusia is gaining momentum in their native Argentina since their debut in 2018 as they often sing about young love. The band performed at Lollapalooza Argentina in 2019, headlined by artists like Post Malone and Twenty One Pilots.

Kurt

Kurt has won hearts over because of his promising Mexican pop act and ultra-romantic songs like "Sé Fuerte Corazón" and "La Mujer Perfecta." The singer's debut album 'En Medio De Este Ruido,' released in 2019, shows off his ethereal vocals and his craftsmanship in songwriting.

Nicki Nicole

Nicki Nicole started discovering hip-hop after meeting friends who do freestyle in the streets at age 17. Her open-minded musical upbringing informs the trap fusions and R&B that she both sings and raps on. Besides, she has helped her stand out in an increasing field of emerging Argentine trap artists.

Soy Emilia

Soy Emilia kicked off her career as a backup singer and bassist for Esteman in 2010. But last year, the Colombian singer-songwriter released her debut pop album 'Reconstrucción.' The 12-track set is packed with retro-like dreamy pop anthems like 'Cactux' and 'Mala Intención.'

Nathy Peluso

Nathy Peluso, born in Argentina, stands out in her distinct voice and fusion of genres like hip-hop, pop, and rap, jazz. Songs like 'Business Woman' and 'Sana Sana' will introduce you to Peluso's alternate reality.

Wos

The argentine rapper started a freestyling career in the streets. In 2019, the born Valentín Oliva rapper released his debut album titled Caravana. In 2018, the rising rapper joined the Red Bull Batalla de Los Gallos, described as one of the essential rap competitions in Latin America.

Pitizion

Pitizion, a Colombian artist, has shown off her prowess as a songwriter with honest and raw lyrics that often tell her life's story. The artist is famous for combining emotional songs with pop beats and incorporates urban strokes with rap touches.
