F9: A Movie that Will Drive People to Theaters

According to CBS Los Angeles, a lot of moviegoers are now more open to going to the cinema because of the new state guidelines that do not require people who have received full vaccination against COVID-19 to wear masks in public. However, there are still some who choose to wear masks as precautionary measures.

One of the moviegoers, Jordan Hernandez, stated that it is very noticeable how many people are now ready to leave their homes and head to the cinemas. He also added that 'Fast and the Furious 9' is probably a movie that will drive people out of their houses.

Box Office hit of the Pandemic Era

According to Variety, if F9 reaches the number predicted by movie experts, the movie would set a record for the pandemic era box office.

However, F9 is still behind the other recent installments of the 'Fast' franchise despite its ticket sales being considered strong in the standards of the pandemic box office. In 2015 and 2017, 'Furious 7' and 'The Fate of the Furious', respectively, hit the $1 billion mark as it was released overseas.

BBC also reported that all of the 'Fast' films have made at least $200M in worldwide sales. In addition, Furious 7 which was considered the most successful movie earned $1.5 billion overtaking Skyfall, the most successful James Bond movie, which earned $1.1 billion.

So far, the 'Fast' franchise has made more than $6.1 billion, including its spin-off 'Hobbs and Shaw'.

F9 follows the life of Dominic Toretto played by Vin Diesel, who, after the last movie, has decided to live with his family peacefully. However, their short-lived peace was disturbed after a world-famous assassin and also a high-performance driver reveals a plot that affects the whole world. Toretto then assembles his old crew to stop the assassin, who turns out to be his brother.

F9 also stars Michelle Rodriguez, John Cena, Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren, Tyrese Gibson, and Ludacris.

Despite being delayed several times due to the pandemic, the "Fast and Furious 9" has finally arrived on the silver screen.
