Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's second child, Lilibet, was reportedly still missing from the Royal line of succession.

As compared to his sister, Archie was added to the official list of the Royal line of succession just two weeks after his birth in London in 2019, according to a Page Six report.

The palace has not yet responded to the current discrepancy. Lilibet was supposed to be listed as eighth in the line of succession to the British throne. As of now, that spot on the royal.uk website is filled by Prince Andrew.

The son of Prince William and Kate Middleton, Prince Louis, was given the fifth spot less than two weeks after his birth.

Sharing his sentiments on the Royal family's decision to maintain silence on the matter, ITV's royal editor Chris Ship had spoken about it during the "Royal Rota" podcast broadcast and cited some possible implications.

He said that maybe the Royal family was "making a point" that "we will get around to it when ready," GEO reported.

Birth of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Youngest Daughter, Lilibet

Prince Harry earlier said he had sought the blessings of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, to name their second child, Lilibet Diana.

Queen Elizabeth's childhood nickname was Lilibet and was used only by her late husband, Prince Philip, her parents, and a few other close friends.

A friend of Prince Harry said that he loves and respects his grandmother. The friend added that the two names are two very important and meaningful names for the Duke of Sussex, Vanity Fair reported.

The Queen's biographer, Sally Bedell Smith, noted that asking the Queen's permission for the name was in line with royal tradition.

Smith said the Sussex couple would have been better off calling the baby Diana Elizabeth, adding that nobody could have objected to that. The biographer noted that paying tribute to the baby's late grandmother would have been widely applauded that way.

The Queen had called herself Lilibet when she was young as she could not pronounce her full name at the age of two. The nickname had been around with family members affectionately referring to her by that name.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry previously said that they do not want titles for their children. They have also given up their own HRH titles (His/Her Royal Highness).

Royal biographer Andrew Morton said baby Lilibet would always be compared to the two most influential and loved royal women of the 20th and 21st century for the rest of her life.

Morton added that the Sussex family's second child would never escape the shadows of the two women she was named after.

Lilibet's Christening

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had made it clear that they want their daughter's christening to take place in Windsor, Elle reported.

One source said that they are happy to wait until circumstances allow. However, it is still unknown when Lilibet would be christened due to the current travel restrictions between the United States and the United Kingdom.

It is likely that Lilibet would be christened in the coming weeks as per royal tradition.
