Family of Mexican Singer Vicente Fernandez Says He's In Critical, But Stable Condition

Fernandez's family on Tuesday posted an update regarding the condition of the singer on Facebook. The family did not disclose how Vicente Fernandez fell, but they mentioned that the Mexican legend was in "undoubtedly serious but stable" condition.

The statement further noted that the fall caused trauma on the singer's cervical spine, which prompted him to undergo neck surgery.

"At the moment, he is [in] post-operation and finds himself with ventilatory assistance and critical patient care in the intensive care unit," said the statement, written in Spanish.

Apart from an update on the Mexican singer's condition, the family also called on the press to avoid blocking the entrances of the hospital, where Fernandez was currently staying.

The statement added that the family of the Mexican singer is not yet willing to give interviews. The information about the singer would be available through statements that will be curated from the communications issued by the medical team.

Fernandez's son, Alejandro Fernandez, took to Instagram to show his support to his father in the wake of the tragic incident.

Alejandro captioned a photo of him and his father, "Te Amo pa," which translates to "I Love You Dad" in English. Fans were quick to comment on Alejandro's post and showed support to the Mexican legend.
