With only a week left before the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, the music network has confirmed yet another superstar to grace the stage as a performer. Justin Timberlake has been added to the roster.

The "Suit and Tie" singer will be performing at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. for the MTV VMAs. In less than a week, JT will be joining other superstars Lady Gaga, Kanye West and Katy Perry as confirmed performers on the awards show.

Timberlake has performed a number of times at the awards show already, with a few going down in VMA history as one of the bests. In 2006, the singer-slash-MySpace owner performed a medley of his hits "Sexy Back" and "My Love" complete with his signature dance moves. A few years back in 2001, JT and his former boy group NSYNC performed with the King of Pop Michael Jackson on the VMA stage.

Speaking about the King of Pop, JT will also be receiving the prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award for his remarkable list of music videos. According to MTV, the award is in honor of artists who are "forerunners in the music video sphere." He will be joining an elite list of artists that have received the award as well, including the Beastie Boys, R.E.M., Madonna, David Bowie, U2 and of course, Michael Jackson himself.

Timberlake is also up for six Moon Men -- the most in this year's awards, tied with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. So far, JT already has 14 VMAs -- including those won during his boyband days -- second only to the Queen of Pop, Madonna.

The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards take place Aug. 25 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. and will be aired live at 9 p.m. ET/PT, only on MTV.
