Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers posted a cryptic message on Instagram on Monday night, highlighting moments from the past year and thanking some important people in his life, including ex-fiancee Shailene Woodley.

The NFL star shared a series of photos on his Instagram, including a picture of him snuggling up with the Divergent star on a couch and some images of him with Packers teammates.

"#MondayNightGratitude for some of the incredibly special people in my life, with some pictures from the last beautiful year," Rodgers' caption reads.

The first photo in his post shows a quote from 13th-century Persian poet Rumi that says, "Gratitude is the wine for the soul. Go on. Get Drunk."

In his caption, Rodgers also thanked Shailene Woodley for a lot of things: for letting him be a part of the 30-year-old actress' life, for always having his back, for the incredible kindness, and for showing him what unconditional love looks like.

The veteran quarterback ended his message for Woodley with, "I love you and am grateful for you." Rodgers' post reportedly comes after making headlines for being a "difficult man" who separates from the actress.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback also thanked his teammates, especially fellow quarterbacks like Jordan Love and Kurt Benkert, for the "daily laughs and stress relief" they brought him every week.

He also thanked wide receiver Randall Cobb, Cobb's wife Aiyda, offensive tackle David Bakhtiari and his fiancé Frankie and included a picture of the five of them in his post, Sports Illustrated reported.

Rodgers went on to recognize his teammates, expressing gratitude to them for the role they have played in his daily life.

"To my teammates, past and current, you are the icing on the beautiful cake we call our job; football. The friendships that we have will transcend our collective time in this game, and I am so thankful for the role that each of you have played in making my life that much better. I love you guys, and cherish the memories we've made," the four-time MVP noted.

Rodgers ended his message by urging everyone to spread love and gratitude.

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers' Instagram Post a Retirement Announcement?

Though rumors regarding Aaron Rodgers' retirement have circulated since the end of the season, the intentions behind the post are unclear.

Rodgers remarked on "The Pat McAfee Show" after Green Bay's divisional-round loss to the 49ers in January that he had "no fear" in retiring. He further noted that he is looking forward to life in the future after football.

The four-time MVP did not take a definitive stance on whether or not he would retire, but he did say he would make a decision "sooner rather than later" before free agency next month.

According to Rodgers, he is open to playing with other teams despite highly praising the Packers organization.

Rodgers said he feels he is in a really good place with the Packers, especially with general manager Brian Gutekunst. However, he said, "whatever comes out of that conversation [with Gutekunst] is moving forward."

Even though the intentions behind the Instagram post are unclear, Rodgers definitely conveyed a Monday Night Gratitude to those he cares about.

The couple confirmed their engagement in February 2021 and announced their separation one year later.

A source close to Aaron Rodgers told People that the breakup was "amicable." The insider said the two were "very different people with busy careers," and there were obstacles that they could not overcome.
