SAG Awards 2022: Here's Why Salma Hayek Was Stranded With Fran Drescher in the Bathroom of the Awards Show

Salma Hayek on Tuesday revealed the reason why she was stranded with actress Fran Drescher in the bathroom of SAG Awards 2022 on Sunday.

Hayek took to Instagram on Tuesday to reveal that she got stuck in the bathroom of the said awards ceremony due to a hilarious wardrobe malfunction, Entertainment Tonight reported.

In the video, Hayek was seen looking pretty but worried, in a bright coral-colored gown, with net gloves on her hands. Meanwhile, Drescher showcased her youthful glow in a black strapless gown with crystal embellishments.

"I can't even believe, are you videotaping this?" Drescher said as she chuckled while she waited for the help of an assistant to safely remove Hayek's glove on the crystal embellishment of her dress.

Hayek then answered, "oh my god we're stuck," in a worried tone adding that Drescher would have to come to present with her on the stage. Looking at the video, it seemed that two of Hayek's fingers got stuck in Drescher's outfit.

Luckily, the assistant was able to remove Hayek's glove as the stars continued talking.

Fran Drescher Wants Salma Hayek to Be Part of Her Green Council

The video Salma posted on Instagram also captured the moment when Drescher told her that she wanted the "Eternals" star to be a part of her green council. Dresher made her comments as the assistant removed Salma's glove on her dress.

"You know, I think I wrote you a letter, we must have sent it to your reps, because I want you to pull you into my green council, and I said to you how magnificent you were in 'Gucci,'" and how fearless you were," Drescher said in the video.

The green council Drescher mentioned is a group of high-profile performers from the Screen Actor's Guild's American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). The said group of artists plans to join forces and advocate for eco-friendly policies to reduce Hollywood's carbon footprint, per Entertainment Tonight.

It can be recalled that Drescher is the newly appointed president of SAG-AFTRA.

After Drescher revealed that she wanted Salma to be part of the green council, the actress also gushed about how she and Hayek always run into each other. "I love that we always, randomly run into each other, including Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris," Drescher said. Hayek then replied: "I know, in Paris," as the video clip ended.

SAG Award 2022: Salma Hayek Gets Stuck on Stage as She Presents Award for Michael Keaton

Aside from being stuck in the bathroom with Fran Drescher, Salma Hayek also got stuck on stage as she presented the award to Michael Keaton on Sunday.

Hayek was caught in the awkward moment on the SAG Awards 2022 when she called on Keaton for winning on the "Male Actor in Television Movie or Limited Series" for his role in "Dopesick," but the actor did not immediately appear on stage, per Yahoo! Entertainment.

"Are you kidding me? I have stage fright... Come on, Michael. Come on, Michael," Hayek said on stage.

Keaton then came running on stage as he explained why he was late in getting his award. "Thank you very much... Sorry quick trip to the men's room. It is packed, by the way," Keaton said as he delivered an emotional speech dedicated to his nephew, who died of a drug overdose.

Even though Salma Hayek had a straw of unfortunate events during SAG Awards 2022, the actress still had a lot of fun during the event.

On Monday, Salma took to Instagram to post highlights of her night during the awards show, sharing a slide show where she posed with several artists, including Lady Gaga and Will Smith.
