World Cup 2022 Draw: Mexico to Play in Group C

Mexico's first match in the group stage of the FIFA World Cup 2022 is a game against Poland on November 22.

According to Sporting News, Poland might be Mexico's toughest rival in the group, arguing that its competitor is known to outfight and outmuscle on set pieces, an area where Mexico is known to be vulnerable.

The outlet also noted that if Mexico was able to win against Saudi Arabia and Argentina, then El Tri has space for an error with Poland.

If Mexico manages to place second in its group stage, El tri will have a chance to face another opponent from Group D, which reports predicted to be World Cup defending champion, France.

World Cup 2022 will be Mexico's 17th appearance in the league, with its last appearance in 2018.

However, Mexico has visions of "El Quinto Partido" at the league because El Tri has histories of being bounced in the round of 16 in each of the last seven tournaments consecutively, per Sporting News.

World Cup Draw 2022: Brazil to Play in Group G

Brazil, on the other hand, will face Serbia on November 24, Switzerland on November 28, and Cameroon on December 2.

Sporting News noted that the most awaited match of Brazil in the group will be its game with Switzerland, contending that the competition will remind of Russia 2018 where the pair shared a draw on the opening matchday.

However, Brazil entered World Cup more aggressively, as it finished top of CONMEBOL qualifying, going into the league with 17 games unbeaten in the campaign. Sporting News also noted that Tite's team also stands number 1 on the FIFA rankings.

Brazil was also predicted to be one of the strongest teams in FIFA World Cup 2022 with experienced players in their team, including Neymar and Roberto Firmino.

Brazil has 22 World Cup appearances with its last during Russia 2018. Neymar's team also boasts five World Cup titles, but the team has not yet reclaimed the title since its last win in 2022.
