Footage of California police gunning down a 23-year-old Black male has recently been making rounds on social media.

In a two-minute clip from a surveillance camera, two San Bernardino police officers were seen shooting the man as the latter attempted to flee the scene.

The video, which shows the horrific San Bernardino shooting, has sparked outrage on social media about what others consider another racist attack.

California Police Shoot 23-Year-Old Black Man in San Bernardino

Last July 16, 23-year-old Robert Adams was fatally shot after two San Bernardino police officers pulled the trigger as he ran away from the parking lot.

As shown in the security camera footage trending on social media over the weekend, Adams is seen walking around the parking lot when an unmarked black vehicle pulled over carrying two armed police officers.

The two officers hurriedly confronted Adams, who was later revealed to have been armed and was running away. In a matter of seconds, one of the two police officers fired at the Black man, causing him to collapse to the ground.

San Bernardino Police Explains the Shooting Incident

According to the San Bernardino Police Department, the two unnamed police officers apparently gave Robert Adams "undisclosed" verbal commands before hurrying toward him.

The two officers are revealed to be members of the police department's "specialized investigations unit" and were "conducting surveillance" from the unmarked vehicle in question.

The Guardian reported that the officers received information that a Black man armed with a gun was in the said parking lot, which turned out to be Adams.

Moments after collapsing to the ground, Adams was transported to the nearby hospital for immediate treatment. However, due to the injuries he sustained from the fatal shot in his back, Adams died.

A loaded Taurus G3C 9mm with a bullet in the chamber was retrieved at the crime scene.

Robert Adams' Family Mourns the Loss of Their Son After California Shooting

Robert Adams' family is mourning his tragic loss.

Speaking to KTLA recently, Adams' father clarified that his son was armed and only "protecting" himself because of the recent violent robberies in the area.

Earlier this week, a manhunt for the recent 7-Eleven hold-ups in California was placed. Adam's mother did not mince her words about what she wanted after the loss of his son.

"A part of me is gone now, and I can't ever get it back. I want criminal prosecution and I want justice and I never want another mother to have to bear this pain. It hurts so bad," Tamika Deavila King told The Guardian on Tuesday night.

San Bernardino Shooting Sparked Outrage Online

Prominent Civil Rights lawyer Ben Crump described the incident as a "horrific execution" while calling for a full investigation on the matter.

Activist Shaun King referred to the "standoff" as "brutal," noting that Robert Adams had "no idea" who the police were before jumping on him.

San Bernardino Police District Chief Darren Goodman urged the public to "withhold judgment" until the investigation is complete. As of this writing, it is unknown whether an independent law enforcement agency will take over the investigation.
