A 70-year-old California woman was brutally beaten and even kicked in the head by four young boys in the lobby of her apartment building in San Francisco.

San Francisco police identified the attackers as three juveniles, ages 11, 13, and 14, and 18-year-old Daryl Moore. The California woman, who identified herself as Mrs. Ren, was attacked by the four young boys on July 31 at around 5 p.m. in a suspected robbery case.

According to ABC 7, the suspects first asked her outside her building for the time, and the elderly woman told them it was 5 o'clock. Since she did not speak English and was unsure if they understood her, she showed them her watch.

Mrs. Ren said the four young boys then followed her into the lobby and searched her body. She noted that this was when the suspects realized she had an iPhone 7, and they demanded to give it to them.

The California woman refused, but they followed her into the elevator. They continued asking, but she refused to give the cellphone. It was when they attacked her.

The suspects dragged the elderly woman onto the floor and out of the elevator. According to Crime Online, the attack was captured on the building's security camera.

Mrs. Ren said the four young boys used their fists to hit her head multiple times, then pulled her down and kept kicking her. At one point, one of the attackers was seen in the video kicking the California woman squarely in the face.

Attackers Returned to Continue Beating up the California Woman

When the elderly woman tried to hide in the hallway and could not close the door, she said the assailants returned again not to steal her watch but her keys and to take turns hitting and kicking her.

Luckily, the California woman's injuries were not life-threatening, but the attack resulted in her being rushed to a hospital. Mrs. Ren spent the past two years inside her home for fear of being infected with COVID-19.

She said the day she was attacked was one of the first days since the start of the COVID pandemic that she had left her apartment. The California woman now rests at home in bed, dealing with the extreme pain from the beating.

Three of the Four Attackers in California Arrested

In a Facebook post, the San Francisco Police Department said earlier this week that three of the four attackers were apprehended.

Those arrested last Wednesday by the Milpitas Police were the 11-year-old, the 13-year-old, and Daryl Moore. But they were arrested on an unrelated issue.

Police said the 14-year-old attacker is still at large. Authorities noted that they had obtained warrants charging the three teens with elder abuse, burglary, robbery, false imprisonment, and conspiracy.

Reports said the youngest suspect was too young to be charged with a crime. The 11-year-old attacker was handed over to the Alameda County Assessment Center.

Moore was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail, while the 13-year-old was booked into the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall but will be transferred to Alameda County. Police did not release the names of the minors.
