King Charles reportedly had a meeting with his younger brother Prince Andrew and firmly told the disgraced royal that he "will never return to royal duties," which left him in tears.

The meeting was conducted shortly before the death of their mother, Queen Elizabeth, in September, according to an insider.

The insider noted that Andrew always had hopes of regaining his position as a senior royal. The younger brother of the king was also stripped of his royal titles after he was connected to Jeffrey Epstein and his sexual assault case.

The person with knowledge of the matter added that King Charles told Andrew that he can have a good life, "a nice life," but that "his public life as a royal is at an end."

The same person added that Andrew was told that he has to "accept this." However, it was reported that Andrew was "totally blindsided," and "utterly bereft."

Prince Andrew Will Never to Return to Royal Duties

Andrew was struggling to accept the current position he finds himself in when it comes to royal duties.

A source noted that the meeting between the two brothers was "emotional and fraught," with those surrounding Andrew expressing concerns for him after he "came out of the meeting shaken."

Andrew was reportedly still in shock, completely lost, and "very depressed."

The Sun reported that Andrew was also said to feel that he was misled by his relatives and had been rumored to think that he could still add value to the monarchy.

One source noted that Andrew was "extremely close" to his mother and he tried to raise the issue of his return to public life many times with her.

The Queen would say "mildly conciliatory things." However, most of the time, she would change the subject immediately.

In August, Andrew was in intense talks with the Queen regarding his future, wanting a new position to see out his days after his court battle with Virginia Giuffre.

Prince Andrew Sexual Abuse Case

In March, a U.S. judge dismissed the sexual abuse lawsuit against Andrew. It was weeks after lawyers for Giuffre reached a deal that involves the prince making a substantial donation to Giuffre's charity.

In addition, he was to declare that he never meant to malign her character.

The lawyers revealed that they had tentatively agreed to a settlement in which the prince would donate to Giuffre's charity.

Giuffre reached the settlement with the British prince after the U.S. judge rejected Andrew's bid to win early dismissal of the lawsuit.

Andrew acknowledged in a statement that Epstein trafficked "countless young girls" over many years. He also added that he "regrets his association with Epstein," while also commending the bravery of Giuffre and other survivors.

The prince has yet to carry out the charity work after he was recently slammed for failing to do the charity work he pledged to make as part of his deal with Giuffre.
