A new biography claimed that Queen Elizabeth II was not upset by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Oprah interview last year.

According to Seventeen, royal expert and biographer Gyles Brandreth said the late monarch was more "focused on how Harry and Meghan were doing" than what they said in interviews.

Brandreth further noted that the queen was also much concerned about what business ventures the Sussex couple planned after their royal exit.

In his upcoming biography "Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait," Brandreth wrote that the late monarch was only "anxious that Harry should 'find his feet' in California and 'find really useful things to do.'"

Brandreth said Queen Elizabeth was not part of any behind-the-scenes royal drama with Harry or Markle, but the late monarch thought Harry was "perhaps a little over-in-love" with Markle," Daily Mail reported.

The royal expert noted that this was as close as the queen ever came to "uttering a word against the new Duchess of Sussex."

The royal autobiographer also hinted at new revelations about Queen Elizabeth's final days in the book, including battling a rare disease before she died.

New Biography of Queen Elizabeth

In his new biography, Gyles Brandreth noted that Queen Elizabeth was fighting a rare form of cancer before her death, adding that this would explain "her tiredness and weight loss and those mobility issues" often announced to the public last year "or so of her life."

The royal expert also wrote in the book that the queen has always known that "her remaining time was limited" and accepted it with all the grace one would expect.

The upcoming book about the late monarch resulted from a connection between Brandreth and the royal family dating back to the 1970s.

The book also sheds light on a number of situations involving the Sussex couple, including their decision to name their daughter Lilibet, which was the queen's childhood nickname.

Other members of the royal family had found it "bewildering" and "rather presumptuous," whereas the queen noted that it was "very pretty" and seemed "just right."

During the Oprah interview, Prince Andrew reportedly slammed the incident. According to the biography, the queen gently reminded him of a similar interview that his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, had given to the same talk show host.

Regarding her relationship with Markle, the book claimed that the queen made everything to make the Duchess of Sussex "feel welcome."

Royal Family on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Days after the Sussex couple's Oprah interview, Prince William was asked by a journalist whether the royals were a racist family, to which he answered that "no, we're very much not a racist family."

When asked if he had spoken to his younger brother, he said he had yet to speak with him. The royal family's staff also has their own demeanor when it comes to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Gyles Brandreth revealed in the book that whenever the Sussex couple's name came up in court circles, they were referred to as "persons who live overseas."

Meanwhile, King Charles III and the rest of the royal family are reportedly "bracing themselves" for the Netflix docuseries of the couple and Harry's new memoir.
