Kate Winslet, who played the lead role in "Titanic" movie, and director James Cameron reflected on the film's legacy in the lead-up to the 25th anniversary of the third highest-grossing film of all time.

Speaking on the film, Winslet said, "It's amazing and incredible to have been part of something that, you know, [is] so steeped in nostalgia for people and still resonates with people in the way that it does."

She said that it is an incredible honor that people still appreciate her contribution to an endeavor that began so long ago.

Winslet's professional journey after the movie's successful release was more challenging than predicted, despite being nominated for an Oscar for her portrayal of Rose in the film.

Fox News noted that she publicly shared her struggles in the profession.

She claimed that Hollywood was scary as it is a big place that requires everyone to maintain a particular image at all times.

She continued by saying that she does not belong with the group's stereotypes. She thinks she has to earn it to deserve to be there, and she had not earned it then.

Cameron's recent statement mirrored this idea.

"I think Kate came out of 'Titanic' a bit traumatized by the scale of the production and her responsibility within it," he said.

Since their last collaboration, he said, they had been eager to get back to working together to learn more about each other's interests and perspectives.

"She's very large and in charge on set. You'd swear she was producing the film," the director said.
