Queen Consort Camilla, the wife of King Charles III, has to cancel her public engagements after she tested positive for COVID-19, according to Buckingham Palace.

Camilla is reportedly suffering from cold symptoms. She has already pulled out of a planned visit to the West Midlands on Tuesday, BBC reported.

The Queen Consort is said to be fully vaccinated and has already earlier tested positive for COVID-19. Despite being positive for coronavirus, she was reported to be in "good spirits" and currently resting.

The palace had first announced that the Queen Consort had to cancel her trip due to "seasonal illness." Almost a year ago, Camilla tested positive for COVID-19 with her husband, King Charles.

It remains unclear if King Charles has also tested positive for COVID-19, according to Fox News. In a statement, Clarence House said the Duchess of Cornwall is currently self-isolating, adding that they will continue to follow government guidelines regarding the matter.

Camilla was scheduled to appear with King Charles this week in Milton Keynes, with solo engagements in the West Midlands.

King Charles III and Camilla Coronation

King Charles' coronation will occur on May 6, Saturday, at Westminster Abbey in London. Charles will be crowned with Camilla during the ceremony. The plans for the king's coronation have been in the making for years and are known internally by the code name "Operation Golden Orb."

It will be a closely-guarded secret, but it was reported that the coronation will be followed by an extra bank holiday across the United Kingdom on May 8. People are also being invited to be part of a local volunteering project in the local community as part of the Big Help Out initiative.

Buckingham Palace also announced several events for the weekend, such as a concert and a laser light show at Windsor Castle. More than 8,000 guests attended Queen Elizabeth II's coronation, but the venue had to be closed for five months to accommodate extra seating.

Aside from royal family members, the prime minister, representatives from the Houses of Parliament, heads of state, and other royals around the world will also be attending.

King Charles III and Camilla Relationship

Camilla and King Charles married each other in April 2005, with the Queen Consort receiving the title of Duchess of Cornwall after their marriage.

Charles said in his first address to the nation as monarch that he counts on "the loving help of my darling wife, Camilla." The pair first met in 1970 when they were introduced by a mutual friend, Lucia Santa Cruz.

In the book "The Duchess: The Untold Story," author Penny Junor wrote that Charles loved the way Camilla "smiled with her eyes as well as her mouth, and laughed at the same silly things as he did."

A year after, the two called it quits, and Charles joined the Royal Navy. The now-Queen Consort reportedly did not meet the "royal requirements" to marry the heir to the throne. Reports said Camilla was not a virgin and did not have an aristocratic bloodline.

In 1973, Camilla married Andrew Parker Bowles, and despite being married to Bowles, Camilla and Charles reportedly started an affair in 1978 or 1979. The couple only got married years after Charles' first wife, Princess Diana, died due to a car accident.
