Colorado woman Letecia Stauch is currently facing murder charges for what happened to her 11-year-old stepson, Gannon Stauch.

Letecia is accused of stabbing and fatally shooting the boy in El Paso County and disposing of his remains in Florida.

Yahoo! News reported that former El Paso County Sheriff's detective Jessica Bethel reviewed several interviews she conducted with Letecia and the boy's dad, Al Stauch, days after Gannon's disappearance in January 2020.

Bethel, who testified in Letecia's murder trial on Wednesday, previously interviewed Gannon's parents in a local Starbucks, and the interview audio recording was played in court on Wednesday.

Before it was played in court, Bethel said she wanted to conduct the interview at the Stauch home. However, she noted that Letecia was "hesitant at best" to do the interview in their home.

Aside from Bethel, two El Paso County Sheriff's Office deputies also testified on Monday that Letecia's car appeared to have been freshly cleaned when she arrived for the interview.

Bethel then noted that Letecia arrived more than two hours late to the interview.

A FaceTime call was also played for jurors, wherein Letecia Stauch once complained to Jessica Bethel about being constantly questioned about her missing stepson.

Bethel asked in the audio if there was anything that Letecia could share with her to help them find Gannon, and at one point, she asked her where she was, but Letecia declined to tell her.

According to Law & Crime, Letecia answered that Bethel kept asking her that same question "over and over and over."

Prosecutors believed that Letecia knew about her stepson's locations, while authorities claimed she stabbed Gannon Stauch on January 27, 2020, in his bedroom in Colorado.

Letecia has used an insanity defense, with her attorney, Will Cook, telling jurors in opening statements that Letecia has been living with dissociative identity disorder and experienced both physical and sexual abuse growing up.

On the other hand, prosecutors claimed that Letecia knew what she was doing as she cleaned up the crime scene and lied to everyone about Gannon's location.

Al also testified about confronting Letecia regarding changing her stories about his son's disappearance.

Gannon Stauch Disappearance

The boy's father previously told detectives that Gannon Stauch would usually play with friends and take his Nintendo Switch, but he was only gone for a short time. At one point, he said he was convinced that something terrible had happened to his son

Letecia Stauch's half-brother, Dakota Lowery, later said he saw Letecia carrying a heavy suitcase while he helped her move out of her Colorado home, PEOPLE reported.

Lowery noted that something did not feel right about the suitcase, which seemed heavier than the others. He said he offered to carry it, but she declined and said she did not need help.

Prosecutors said the Colorado woman stabbed her stepson 18 times and fatally shot him in their Colorado home.

The boy was found in March 2020 inside a green suitcase in Florida. Lowery claimed that it was the same suitcase that Letecia struggled to carry.
